New Members and Our First Auction

Scary Art Fans should be thrilled to hear of our latest inductees. Long-time regular guest art stars, Kepi Ghoulie and Char Hall are now officially members of the Scary Art Collective. Drop them a line (see their bios for contact information) and pass on your congratulations!

Black Friday was as good as its name this year, bringing in over $500 from the Altered Lyllionia auction! The moneys will be put to good use in the coming year for pins, stickers & more! Special thanks to our beloved member and fellow artists, Queenie, of Pocket Full of Posiez for the idea and, of course, the Lyllionia dollies we customized.

Keep your eyes peeled here and on our members' blogs for more information on upcoming art auctions.

Annual Scary Halloween show!

This year's huge Scary Art Collective Show kicked off on Saturday, October 13, 2007 and was, without a doubt, an enourmous success. Over 20 artists and hundreds (felt like thousands) of fans really made the night special.

Thanks to everyone who supplied gallery space, submitted art, helped organize & hang, came out to support us and who purchased art (especially those who purchased). We'd be nothing without you.

Art is available at Body Tribe Fitness and Side Show Studios in Sacramento through November 8th. Please contact us for more info!

KVIE wins with Scary Art!

Paintings donated by Scary Art Collective members C!nder and Mark Fox raised major cabbage for public television station KVIE Channel 6 last night!

C!nder's "At Least My Sky Is Blue" well exceeded KVIE's goal of $250, going for $400 (!!!) after the dust created by five competing bidders settled.

Mark's acrylic on wood "Melungeon Seranade" raised almost three times the station's goal of $90. The final bid was ...wait for it... $250. Meanwhile Mark and Nicole Fox looked astonished and proud, respectively, as they watched the bidding mayhem from behind the scenes.

Congratulations fellas!

Special thanks to Evie Turner at KVIE for mentoring CoolCat Gallery's initial appearance on the KVIE Art Auction, and for being a loyal supporter of the Scary Art Collective!
